|Immanuel Lutheran Church
Immanuel offers two weekly worship services: Saturday evening at 6:00 pm and Sunday morning at 10:00 am. We celebrate the sacrament of Holy Communion at every worship service.
Holy Communion is a sacred gift from God by which we are reassured of the forgiveness of our sins and the gift of eternal life which we have through Christ. In the celebration of Holy Communion, we believe the Risen Lord is truly present and gives himself in the bread and wine, His precious body and blood. It is not to be received lightly but should be received only by those who are truly sorry for their sins and thus are ready to receive the bread and wine. Let each one examine his or her life and be ready to receive with joy this wonderful sacrament. We celebrate open communion here at Immanuel. Children who have not yet communed or received communion instruction and all others not receiving communion are invited to come forward. Please approach the altar with folded hands to receive Christ's blessing through the Pastor.
Saturday Evening Praise Service - 6:00 pm
Are you looking for a more casual worship experience? Please join us at Immanuel for a Contemporary Praise Worship service.
The service begins at 6:00 pm each Saturday.
The Saturday service is held in a more casual setting and the music is presented in different ways. The hymns used are from our hymnal and other sources, especially songs written by our own Geoff Williams. You'll hear familiar hymns that are jazzed up, camp songs from your youth and contemporary Christian Songs.
We use intinction during communion at the Saturday service.
The nursery is not available during the evening service.
We have adult Bible Study, 5:00 – 5:45 pm, preceding the worship service.
Sunday Morning Traditional Service - 10:00 am
Come worship with us on Sunday mornings! Immanuel has one Traditional Sunday Service at 10:00 am. Our senior choir sings weekly during this service from September through May.
We use bread or wafers and individual wine cups during communion at the Sunday service. All communicants are to cross their hands with palm side up so that the wafer may be placed in the hand. Please take a glass from the tray when offered (wine - purple, grape juice - white). Place the empty glass in the tray held by the acolyte and return to your seat. There will be one blessing after all have communed. If you are unable to come to the altar to receive communion, please inform one of the ushers. The pastor will bring the communion to you after all have been served. Please check the communion box on the friendship pad when you sign your name if you intend to receive communion.
There is Coffee Fellowship after the service in the Gathering Area.
Nursery is available, for children ages 5 and under.
During the school year we have several Sunday Church School classes for ages 3 and up, 9:00 – 9:45 am, preceding the worship service.
