Janet Jaeger, Secretary

Janet has been the secretary of Immanuel since 1996. Her smiling face greets everyone who walks into the office. She and husband Bob have a grown son Karl. He and his wife Nicole live in Jackson and have three daughters.


Janet loves reading, a neighborhood book club, camping, and gardening.

Linda Storm, Organist/Accompanist

Linda received a Bachelor of Sacred Music degree in Organ Performance from Lincoln Christian College and a Master of Arts degree in Worship Studies from Lincoln Christian Seminary (IL) and has taken additional graduate studies in Piano Pedagogy at the University of Illinois-Urbana. Linda taught for twenty-four years on the undergraduate faculty of Lincoln (IL) Christian University in the area of Music and Worship Ministry. From 1985 to 2011 she was principal organist and worship choir accompanist at Lincoln Christian Church, Lincoln, IL. A frequent recitalist, Linda has also been a private instructor in piano and organ, adjudicator at music contests and events, and accompanist for numerous soloists, musical ensembles, choirs, and theatre productions. Since moving to the Jackson area in 2011, she has been the accompanist for the Jackson Chorale's Children's Choir and has served as an interim organist at various churches in the area. She currently is an Adjunct Instructor at Spring Arbor University teaching Music Foundation classes and Private Piano. She is a member of the American Guild of Organists. In addition, both Linda and her husband are members of the Jackson Community Chorale.

Linda's husband, Randy, is manager of the Spring Arbor University Bookstore and they have been married for 38 years. They have two grown children and one very exceptional grandson.

Kirk Hoffman, Praise Team Leader

Kirk is the Praise Team Leader for Immanuel's Saturday worship service. He leads the service, makes musical selections, and plays saxophone. Kirk and his wife Jeanine have been members of Immanuel since 1988. They have two daughters, Kaitlyn, who is married to Nate, and Alysa. They have one grandson Liam. Kirk is a past president of the Congregational Council and currently serves as Council Secretary. He has served on the Finance, Worship and Music, Mutual Ministry, Communications, and Endowment committees. Kirk is Vice President and Director of Financial Planning at GuideStream Financial in Spring Arbor. He enjoys music, boating, fishing, and skiing.

Lynda Childs, Senior Choir Director

Lynda is an MSU graduate, with a degree in Applied Piano Pedagogy. While at MSU she was a member of several fine choirs and that began her first real interest in choral music. She has been directing church choirs since 1973, and has been a Lutheran since 1982. In 1985 she received her public school certification through Spring Arbor College, and for nineteen years she taught school music (K-12 at Springport and K-6 at Vandercook Lake.) In addition to being the director of Springport Spartan Choirs at Springport High School, she also led the choir at St. James Lutheran in Jackson for ten years. Lynda came to Immanuel in 1999 and directed the Senior Choir for eleven years, retiring in 2010. She is now back on an Interim assignment.

She and her husband Neil have been married for 51 years and have two children. Together they enjoy traveling, MSU football, and canoeing. Lynda's other interests include photography, swimming, and being a very good grandmother to one granddaughter and one grandson.

As of 2019, he is pastor at St. Jacob Lutheran Church in Anna, Ohio. Prior to coming to Immanuel, he was pastor of Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jonesboro, Illinois.

Pastor Erick came to us from St Peter Lutheran in Battle Creek, MI. He was Pastor at St. Peter Lutheran for 15 years; before that he was at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Dearborn for 12 years. Pastor Erick Johnson and his wife Delia remain living in Jackson, MI.

The Rev. Scott Mauch
Scott served as a dual congregational seminar intern for Immanuel and St. James from August 2002 to August 2003. He was ordained on May 22, 2004 in his home church of Augustana Lutheran Church in Hobart, Indiana. Scott is currently serving as Pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church in Lebanon, Indiana.

The Rev. Vicky Blough
Vicky served as a dual congregational seminar intern for Immanuel and St. James from August 2003 to August 2004. She was ordained on August 27, 2005 at Lutheran Church of the Redeemer in Elkhart, Indiana. Vicky is serving as Pastor of St. John Lutheran Church in North Liberty, Indiana.

The Rev. Zac Sturm
Zac served as a dual congregational seminar intern for Immanuel and St. James from August 2004 to July 2005. James Lutheran Church. Zac was installed on at Immanuel on Saturday August 28 and Sunday August 29.
He was ordained on July 30, 2006 at MacAuthor Park Lutheran Church in San Antonio, Texas. Zac is currently serving as Pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church in Kirkwood, Missouri

Bridget served as our seminary intern from August 2011 to July 2012. She was ordained on January 28, 2012 at New Life Lutheran Church in Bolingbrook, Illinois. Bridget is currently serving as Pastor of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Elgin, Texas.

Pastor Steve Krebill, Bethel Lutheran Church, Middleburg Heights, Ohio

Steve was born and raised in Jackson. He came into the Lutheran Church by being invited as a young child to Vacation Church School at Immanuel by his neighbors, Don and Alice Wiltse. He was baptized AND confirmed at Immanuel on Palm Sunday, April 4, 1971.

The story of how he felt called to ministry is long and circuitous. He earned the degree of Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Olivet College, Olivet, Michigan in 1978. After teaching and doing youth work in Toledo, he entered Trinity Lutheran Seminary, Columbus, Ohio in 1982 where he received his Master of Divinity in 1986. Steve was ordained at Immanuel on June 29, 1986.

In 1996, Steve earned the Doctor of Ministry Degree from the Graduate Theological Foundation, Donaldson, Indiana. As part of his seminary training, he spent a year with the people of Advent Lutheran Church, Cleveland, Ohio, as well as a summer in Clinical Pastoral Education at Children's Hospital, Columbus, Ohio.

Pastor Krebill's first call was to Trinity Lutheran Church, Hillsdale, Michigan. Steve was there for 12 years. In 1998, he accepted the call to serve the people of Bethel Lutheran Church, Middleburg Heights, Ohio.
