Claimed and nourished by Christ, we share God's transforming love with all.

Due to the national emergency that has been declared around the novel coronovirus (COVID-19) and preemptive measures to prevent and slow the spread of this pandemic, such as social distancing, church council, at the recommendation of Bishop Satterlee, has suspended all worship services and church activities indefinitely. However, our food pantry will remain open in this time of need, with additional safety measures put in place for clients and volunteers. Please keep those affected by this health crisis and health-care providers in your prayers.

We welcome you to the Immanuel Lutheran Church website. We hope you can visit us in person—there is a place for everyone at our table. Behind every ministry is a willingness of individuals responding to God's grace. As a church we exist for one primary reason—to proclaim the Good News in Christ Jesus. Here you will find an active and loving church family. If you do not have a church home or are visiting Jackson, we invite you to be our guest!

We are members of the North/West Lower Michigan Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (ELCA).

One Million Pennies!

On May 21, 2015, we celebrated our social ministry campaign to raise 1,000,000 pennies to support the Shallow Well program sponsored by Marion Medical Mission! Thanks be to God!

Our one year campaign continued into September resulting in a total of $1,298,061 pennies being generously contributed. One million of these were displayed at Immanuel Lutheran's 90th Anniversary celebration on September 12-13, and at the Jackson Cascades Falls on September 19. The $12,980.61 was sufficient to fund 32 wells.

The goal of this program is to provide safe drinking water for African villages by installing shallow wells that are sealed to prevent surface contamination. Each well costs $400 (40,000 pennies) to install and provides safe drinking water for 100-300 people. Read the MLive article Church collects one million pennies to build wells in Africa for additional information.

We are continuing to collect "Pennies for Wells" through a monthly free will offering collected on the 4th Sunday of each month.
